Although formally trained in NEW YORK CITY in film, photography and fine arts, Richie’s aesthetic influences were nurtured in the exotic Philippine islands where she was born and raised. Not until she embarked on her worldwide travels to accomplish her dream of photojournalism that she was exposed to western influences. In NEW YORK’s famed East Village she joined the Avant Garde movement, and by the age of 20 was a part of the gritty underground scene; being exposed to film, cutting edge art, and NEW YORK’s high fashion as well as in Paris and Milan.

Richie captures what is personal and enigmatic using natural light. Her ability to develop a real connection with the people she photographs , allows her to photograph them for her soul, while her heart triggers the shutter. Richie Goodwin is currently located in Sonoma county, California where she is raising her son Sol.
